Our December speaker/workshop session was all about Key Performance Indcators. Kraig Kramers, as always, was excellent in explaining the importance of KPIs, and twelve month moving totals (12MMT). The session included an overview of why we need to measure our business and what to measure. The most important measurement for any business is: “What Causes Sales?” Each member left with a toolkit to help them select the appropriate KPIs for their respective businesses.
In January, moving from the KPIs and measuring the business in December, we continued with reviewing the past years accomplishments and shortfalls. Each member shared with the other members a summary of 2010, and what their goals are for 2011. The goals include milestones, and quarterly updates. As we proceed through the year we will hold each other accountable for achieving our goals. FYI, goals are personal and for our business. In addition to setting goals, and establishing KPIs it is useful to revisit E-Myths by Michael Gerber. If you don’t have time to read the book or the summary you can use a summary outline.
February will be an executive session including a leadership exercise. At our March meeting Luis Marrero will work with us to understand “Meaningful Purpose.” April is time for Ole Carlson and “ASPIRE – How to have more of what you want now,” and in May we have the All City meeting.
